Will I receive treatment on my first visit?

On your first visit you will be asked details of your medical history and an examination will take place. If necessary, exercises will be provided and explained to assist with treatment.

What should I wear?

Your physiotherapist will need to examine the part of your body that is affected, so you should wear something that is easy to remove on the affected area. If it is a lower limb problem it is a good idea to bring a pair of shorts with you.

Can I talk to someone over the phone about my condition?

We could discuss your symptoms as there is usually a physiotherapist available to talk over the phone. However we would need to see you to fully assess your symptoms and take a full history.

Do you do home visits?

There is sometimes a cost involved dependent on the distance we will be travelling.  Please feel free to get in touch to arrange an appointment.

Can I have a chaperone?

You are welcome to be accompanied at all your appointments if you prefer.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

You may consult a physiotherapist without a referral from your GP. If further investigations/opinions are needed, communication between the Physiotherapist and your GP is usually encouraged for your benefit. This will only be done with your consent.
